Round 5 - Buxted
Mike summed up the day; "The Buxted boys did us proud (again), with a superb course set entirely in their two areas of woodland, with added lakes, drain pipes and tricky baffle boards to shoot over, round or through.
Very little breeze to contend with, but some wonderful range traps out there. Sufficient to confuse most of us except the extraordinary skills of the likes of Tugglet and Charles, each coming home having dropped just a couple of points; fantastic result, you two. Well done all guys … and ladies … among the Gold badge winners. Commiserations to the rest of us; just have to take home lots of (hopefully) learned lessons.
That’s all there is to this HFT game, lots of shooting and lots of learning. I just to need to stop the ‘forgetting’ bit. Doh."
Open class : Silver medal winners : Mike (50), Vince (50), Kim (49)
Junior class : Bronze medal winner and 2nd medal from 2 events : Roddy (39)
Recoiling class : Dave with a score of 32 and Alasdair with a 2nd time competition score of 30

Round 4 - Horsham
Thank you to the team at Horsham for putting on a great competition. The weather was lovely making for a very enjoyable day.
Round 3 - Swallows
Despite losing the use of the south field and woods, Mike and the team produced a great course. The lake was a lovely setting to shoot and provided some "interesting" shots thanks to the very unpredictable wind and a number of range traps.
The targets showed how tricky some of them were with a lot of peppering around the kills and backboards with a good few pellets in them accounting for a number of donuts.
Well done to all those who scored well and some great comments on the airgunbbs forum - thank you for the kind words of appreciation.
Thanks go to the Swallows members who worked the weekends prior to the shoot to set up the course; namely Mike, Steve, Vince, Kim, Carla, Pete, Chris and to Stewart and Gerry for looking after us on the day with great burgers and for ongoing support for the club grounds and equipment.
It was great to shoot with Alasdair and Roddy on their first competition. CONGRATULATIONS Roddy for a great score of 39 especially as you only got the new rifle the day before and had to set it up shooting through the house into the garden.... awesome and we look forward to seeing you at the other rounds of SIHFT. The pleasant day shooting with Alasdair and Roddy made up for my bad day...
And another CONGRATULATIONS to Carla for a PB of 52 using Dad's rifle, a great score considering she hadn't practiced with the rifle before the competition. Watch out Mike, Carla's on your heels...
