SIHFT 2013 awards & fun shoot
Ford put on a great competition for the awards fun shoot which was made all the more interesting by the howling wind and occasional rain shower. Windage compensation was very challenging with the gusting winds.
Swallows have had a good season this year fielding a full team for each event and despite coming 5th in the overall scores we have had a great time especially for the "newbies" who have experienced their first year in the sport and in competitions.
Our small team did very well this year winning 2 awards - congratulations going to :
Dave Walden with 3rd place in the springer class, and
Alex Noakes with 1st place in the under 13s class
The home page shows our individual team member scores and place in the whole competition.
We look forward to the 2014 season....

SIHFT 2013 Round 10 - Swallows
Contrary to normal Swallows competitions, the weather was very kind to us being very warm and sunny and very little breeze. A great effort from the Swallows team with much strimming and pruning needed to prepare the course to Mike's design which, from the feedback on airgunbbs.com, was enjoyed by many.
On the day special thanks to Kerry and Mike for the great burgers and bacon rolls and to Gerry and Stuart for marshalling the top road.
It was great to have Vince and Gary shoot at the competition scoring 47 and 43 respectively.
Congratulations to Dave Standing for a personal best of 50 winning a bronze badge and to Dave Walden for a personal best of 55 winning a gold badge

SIHFT 2013 Round 9 - Buxted
The Buxted course setters did a cracking job with this challenging array of targets set in the woods. The weather was kind to us, the rain keeping away throughout the shoot but a good breeze in places to make some shots more interesting.
The free stander was a real challenge with 20 doughnuts and just 5 kills; one being from Swallows.
Our team did well again this round with 250 points in total and 5th place overall; compared to our traditional 6th in other rounds.
It was great to have Pavel join the team for this round scoring a credible 29 points in his first SIHFT for Swallows.
Our 250 score gave gold for Mike who also collected his platinum for 5 golds, a gold and personal best for Steve and a silver for Alex.
A great shoot, well done Buxted.

SIHFT 2013 Round 8 - Horsham Hawks
The Horsham course was a delight to shoot with a great variety of targets set out in the woods and open field. The wind on the field was a good challenge as it managed to completely change direction whilst targeting the shots.
The Swallows team continues to make progress; with 8 members shooting; winning 4 Silver and 1 Gold medal and a personal best for Alex too.

SIHFT 2013 Round 7 - Ford
Another great competition where the wind again played a role in splitting the results. A great turn out from Swallows giving us 8 shooters on the day, 5 medals and a personal best score for Carla too. Swallows are on the up...
SIHFT 2013 Round 6 - Mile Oak "The Oaks"
A challenging and enjoyable competition with the blistering sunshine and "interesting" wind conditions.
Unfortunately no pictures were taken on this shoot as everyone was focused on keeping themselves and their rifles out the sun.

SIHFT 2013 Round 5 - Buxted
A great shoot in the woods and main field. The wooded sections gave a welcome break from the sun-drenched field targets. The weather was kind to us but the targets weren't so kind to most of us with many reporting it being a challenging course.
We had 5 members shooting which gave a complete team but meant "every shot counted". No PBs today unfortunately...

SIHFT 2013 Round 4 - Horsham Hawks
A great competition with 8 Swallows members competing and 6 medals taken home. Alex's 2nd competition with his new Brocock Contour and a silver medal too despite knocking the barrel out of alignment near the end. All good experience and highly enjoyable...
